» Vinyl film for my Car. Any recommendations?

Hey everyone,
I’m in a bit of a dilemma and could really use some advice from folks who’ve wrapped their cars before or have dabbled in vinyl work.
A couple of months ago, I bought this used 2015 Audi A5 Sportback in glacier white. Beautiful car, runs great, but the paint has seen some things. The previous owner lived near the coast, and while the body is clean, the clear coat on the hood and roof is starting to dull out. Nothing tragic, but it bugs me. A full respray is out of the question for now, and I’m not quite ready to commit to a ceramic coating or PPF either. After some back and forth, I figured a vinyl wrap might be the perfect middle ground—fresh look, paint protection, and I can rip it off in a year or two if I get bored.
Now, here’s where it gets interesting.
I was originally thinking of going matte black for that sleek stealth look, but then I saw a car in a brushed steel vinyl and it blew my mind. It was like a modern, industrial vibe without screaming “look at me!” Still classy. But then I started spiraling down the rabbit hole and now I’m not even sure I want a full wrap. Maybe just a hood and roof accent wrap? Or some custom cut detailing on the sides?
The main problem is: I want to try doing this myself.
I’ve done tint before and a partial wrap on my motorcycle tank, so I’m not a total noob—but I know car vinyl is a whole different beast, especially when it comes to complex curves and full panels. That said, I love working on my car. It’s my therapy, and I don’t mind spending a weekend battling bubbles and stretching film if it means saving a chunk of cash and learning something new.
